Happy last day of summer!

Several days ago I saw an example of evangelism as most of us usually think of it – big signs, judgmental, and an agenda-driven one way confrontation. This was at the corner at Home Depot in Kalispell, and the man was wearing sunglasses, a handkerchief as a mask, and ear protection. He didn’t seem to want a conversation with anyone, and he didn’t want anyone to know who he was in real life.

Is this the kind of evangelism we think will connect with people? The answer is no.

Jesus had a different, much more effective style of evangelism. He was interested in conversation, not confrontation; invitation rather than invasion; adventure rather than argument; experience rather than one position; personal discovery rather than vigorous debate. Jesus’ style of evangelism is people loving and life giving!

This Sunday we’ll talk more about that style and lean into what it means to be an “everyday Christian.” See you in person or online!

Blessings,

Pastor Jared
