Today I am off to Christ UMC in Salt Lake City for a three-day Clergy Orders Retreat. Clergy Orders is a gathering of Elders, Deacons, and Licensed Local pastors across our conference for worship, continuing education, fellowship, and a chance to meet and greet our new bishop, Kristin Stoneking! I’m looking forward to renewing our connections across our vast region.
This coming Sunday we will continue our focus on Messy Church during worship. I’ve shared the values and theology behind Messy Church, and by now you should have some understanding of what Messy Church is meant to be. This Sunday, I’ll get down into the details – how does Messy Church actually work? What’s the order? How can you be involved? I’ll share the “nuts & bolts” of Messy Church, and we’ll celebrate World Communion Sunday by gathering around the communion table and celebrating the love of Jesus for his church.
