May 22, 2024 Weekly Update
Greetings church!
We have a wonderful opportunity to welcome our missionary, Ken Koome, to worship this Sunday. Ken is a General Board of Global Ministries missionary to the East Angola conference and oversees the East Angola Pastor Salary Support Program. Our congregation has hosted Ken several times in the past. It is always a joy to make a personal connection with him, hear updates about his ministry, and be reminded of the power of staying connected in our worldwide denomination!
Ken will speak during worship on Sunday morning at 10am. Our mission team has graciously organized a potluck lunch to enjoy together after worship. If you are unable to attend worship on Sunday morning, but would like to hear from Ken, Bigfork UMC is hosting a potluck dinner on Monday evening at 5pm. All are welcome to attend.
Ken will share updates regarding the Pastor Salary Support program, and share some news about his fellow East Angola Missionary, Kutela Katembo, and the agricultural program in Quessua UMC Mission. Kutela recently sent a message along with a few photos below.
“I want share with you some photos of children enjoying egg stew. From time to time, we do offer eggs to the children’s kitchen (weekend meal program) so that they can have egg stew. The lady picking up some vegetable is in charge of collecting vegetables from our garden and eggs for the children. The chicks are getting bigger and bigger and we still need to feed them for some months before they start laying eggs as well.” – Kutela
