September 6, 2023 Weekly Update
Happy Wednesday church,
Cooler temperatures have arrived, and yet the sun is still shining bright, and the sky looks so blue this week. What are you noticing during your day? Back to school supplies? Autumn decorations and Halloween displays? Less tourism traffic on the roads? I’ve seen a lot of “pumpkin spice” treats and sweets lately, so this Jesus cartoon gave me a giggle. No, Jesus will not turn your water into a pumpkin spice latte.
In our scripture from last Sunday, we read about Moses’ interaction with the burning bush. With curiosity and sacred intrigue, Moses noticed the burning bush in his midst while tending the flocks in the wilderness. When he approached the bush, he heard the voice of God, and received a new beginning – a calling for the future.
What are you noticing during your days? Take a moment of sacred curiosity or patient gazing and allow God to show you something new or holy in the midst. You probably won’t be called to Egypt, but maybe you will hear the quiet whisper of God – encouraging you and blessing you for the week ahead.
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Jared
