DON'T MISS: |
Ark Full of Chairs On Sunday, April 25th, we gathered at Flathead Lake United Methodist Camp Our goal was to raise $5,000 Here's some photos from the day:
A joint missions project of the United Methodist Churches in Flathead Valley together with Mission Valley United Methodist Church. We are joining hands and paintbrushes in the hopes of raising $5,000 for Heifer International. The symbol of the ARK originates in Heifer International Organization as a means of identifying a quantity of giving ~ enough to send numerous pairs of animals around the world to places of need/poverty, where they become tools of livelihood and their by products provide sustenance and a means of self sufficiency. In conjunction with current appeals for Haiti, 16 Heifer projects already initiated in Haiti will be serviced from our donation according to their need first, and the remaining monies will be dispensed as needed to other areas.Heifer International
Heifer's formula is a simple one. Heifer empowers families to turn a life of hunger and poverty into one of self-reliance and independence. With the gifts of livestock and training, Heifer helps improve nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways. There are heifers that give milk ... chickens that produce eggs ... sheep that provide wool ... and much, much more! Animals are referred to as living loans because in exchange for receiving an animal and training in its care, each family agrees to give one of its animal's offspring to another family in need .. passing on the gift!
A Gift Ark donation for Heifer is $5,000.
Our goal, with Ark Full of Chairs, was to create approximately 70 chairs for a silent auction and meet this goal. 82 chairs and benches were recreated, and our goal was exceeded with $6,032.50 raised!
